The theoretical cycle time is the sum of your step times — it assumes steps run back-to-back with no waiting. The effective cycle applies your efficiency-loss factor to approximate real minor stops, adjustments and operator variability; it is an estimate, not a substitute for measured data. Batch per-piece time amortises the setup steps you tick across the batch size, so a larger batch lowers per-piece setup burden. Machines-needed rounds up because a fraction of a machine cannot exist, and it does not account for scheduling, maintenance windows or shared equipment. Use the theoretical cycle time as the ideal cycle time input for the OEE calculator.
