Line Balancing Efficiency Calculator
Efficiency · bottleneck · balance delay · takt time
Workstations
Add each workstation with its own name and task/cycle time. Every line differs — no fixed template.
Planning (optional)
Result
Add your workstations and their task times to get line efficiency, balance delay, the identified bottleneck, theoretical minimum stations and a per-station utilisation table with rebalancing flags
Line efficiency here is the classic balancing ratio: total work content divided by the capacity the line ties up (stations × bottleneck cycle). The bottleneck sets the real output rate — the line can never run faster than its slowest station, regardless of how quick the others are. Theoretical minimum stations is a lower bound assuming tasks can be split perfectly; real precedence constraints and indivisible tasks usually require more. Rebalancing flags are informational — actual task reassignment must respect precedence and zoning rules. Use this for study and preliminary balancing, not as a full assembly-line-balancing optimiser.
