Standard volume method: units per m³ = 1/((l+j)(h+j)(w+j)) — modular brick with 10 mm joints gives the classic 500 bricks/m³. How to Use

Step 1: Set your unit type and mortar details

  • Select your Unit Type: Clay Brick Modular, Clay Brick Traditional, AAC Block, Concrete Solid Block or Fly Ash Brick. Choosing one pre-fills standard length, width and height, though all three fields stay fully editable if your actual units are a different size.
  • Check and adjust the Unit Length, Width, and Height in millimetres if needed.
  • Enter your Mortar Joint thickness in millimetres, 10mm is the common default for brick and block work.
  • Select your Mortar Mix ratio, 1:4 or 1:6 are listed or choose Custom and enter your own sand parts if your project specifies a different ratio.
  • Enter your Wastage percentage, typically 5 to 10 percent, to cover breakage and site loss on top of the exact calculated quantity.

Step 2: Add your walls and their openings

  • Tap Add Wall for each wall in your project. Enter that wall’s Length, Height and Thickness.
  • Within each wall card, tap to add an Opening for every door or window in that wall, entering its width and height so the tool subtracts that area from the wall’s total volume automatically.
  • Repeat for every wall in your project, adding as many as you need.

Step 3: Add cost details, if you want a price estimate

  • Under Cost (optional), enter the Price per unit for your brick or block, the Price per cement bag and the Price per m³ of sand. Leave any of these at 0 to skip that part of the cost calculation.

Step 4: Get your estimate

  • Tap Estimate Quantities. The result shows the total brick or block count, cement bags needed, sand volume and total material cost if you entered prices, all broken down per wall as well as combined into a project total.
